The Manager of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery programs.

Basic Qualifications and

This position requires a proven subject matter expert with demonstrated competency in the planning, development, program execution, maintenance and testing of Enterprise Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Management programs.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, Deliver and Support BC and DR initiatives as determined by Senior Leadership
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Plans are fully documented, tested and executable for all critical business processes
  • Partner with IT to ensure that DR applications have fully documented, tested and executable plans
  • Ensure integration of business and technical aspects of the BC / DR program
  • Partner with IT to ensure that all aspects of IT infrastructure have adequate plans and are tested
  • Develop recovery priorities, timelines and strategy for proper sequence of recovery components
  • Drive organization resiliency as key component of BC/DR
  • Lead monthly BC/DR Steering meetings
  • Lead BCP tabletop exercises – driving functional leaders to pragmatic & effective continuity actions
  • Lead DR tabletop exercises – driving technology leaders to pragmatic & effective recovery actions
  • Advance Business Continuity Management Program with both creative solutions and pragmatic KPI’s.
  • Propose and implement tooling to oversee the BC/DR program (minimizing manual efforts)
  • Partner with IT to propose leverage of available technologies (e.g. AWS) to reduce costs and risk while increasing resiliency.
  • Partner with IT related to the design, coordination and execution of periodic Disaster Recovery testing with internal and external vendors and Security Benefit
  • Responsible for conducting BIA with Security Benefit business units
  • Responsible for semi-annual update and dissemination of Corporate and Department BC plans, and related updates to DRPs and ancillary plans
  • Support BC/DR audit and examination activities
  • Partner with infrastructure and application areas to develop and maintain recovery procedures for all applications
  • Proactively identify and implement BC/DR program and process improvements

Required Skills and Experience
  • Must have core technology skills (such as networking, storage management, backup processing) to be able to oversee test execution from a technical     perspective
  • Minimum 7 years in infrastructure and/or networking technologies
  • Any Cloud experience / certification is a plus
  • Minimum 7 years disaster recovery AND / OR business continuity planning experience
  • Self–motivated with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management skills in all areas of Business Continuity Program management
  • Strong knowledge of Business Continuity Program management
  • Relevant Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Risk or Audit certifications preferred. (One or more certifications MBCP, CBCP, ABCP, CRISC, CISA)
  • Exhibit excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
  • Possess a good understanding of appropriate leading-edge technologies
